⭐️ Creator Highlights: The Safe Zone

The Safe Zone is a groundbreaking short film written and directed entirely by AI. Released in December 2022, it was spearheaded by former Big Brother contestant Richard Juan soon after the launch of ChatGPT. Juan utilized the conversational AI to generate the script, storyboards, shot lists, and even lighting and wardrobe directions. While the cinematography is striking thanks to following ChatGPT's detailed instructions, the dialog comes across somewhat stilted and unnatural. Nonetheless, The Safe Zone represents an astonishingly early experiment in AI-generated filmmaking. Juan and his crew leaned heavily on ChatGPT and DALL-E to birth this project just weeks after the AI launched, beating the entertainment industry to the punch.

The "Angels of LA" augmented reality experience in downtown LA was created by Daniel Leighton and Anna Mkhitarian Leighton to showcase the city's diverse communities and cultures through AI-generated angel artworks viewable via the Hoverlay app. Visitors can interact with the angel artworks overlooking Angels Landing and take pictures wearing virtual angel wings.
