THIS WEEK HAS BEEN A GAME CHANGER

George Lucas says the use of AI in Filmmaking is “Inevitable” and creators better get used to it if they don’t want to get left behind comparing it to the way the carriage industry was overtaken by the auto industry in the early 1900’s.

Microsoft, Nvidia, Nike and more in the news this week. Lots of updates and new tools on the horizon. This week I made a video on both the news and the latest tools. Here are the highlights:

• Microsoft had some HUGE announcements and will be competing with Apple more than ever now. Watch the full Keynote HERE.

• Nike has embraced AI and is developing their own LLM to create shoes and designs in the future. They claim it gives their designers SUPERPOWERS.

• Nvidia is up 262% from last year and has proven AI is here to stay. They also announced a 10:1 stock split. All of the top companies are relying on the Nvidia chips so this company will only keep rising. Check out their EARNINGS REPORT.

• Meta released their new Multi-Modal model CHAMELEON.

• Autodesk has acquired AI VFX company Wonder Dynamics which is owned by Tye Sheridan and backed by Steven Spielberg and Joe Russo. Check out the announcement HERE.

LATEST AI RESEARCH

• Adobe has added Firefly features to LIGHTROOM. This is a huge add on for photographers to adjust photos quicker than ever before.

• GOOGLE has introduced their Sora competitor VEO . This tool will be be a part of the generative AI revolution. What impact will it have on the creative process? We will have to wait and see, but their is definitely a lot of opportunity to play in the near future. Check out all of Google’s other research HERE.

• LayGA is a research paper that allows you to transfer clothing onto different avatars and allow for that Avatar to move easily with the clothes animating with it.

• KINO AI is an incredible media management tool that automatically tags and makes every frame in the video you upload to be searchable immediately to get you editing and working with your footage faster.  

• LOGO MOTION is a research paper from Adobe research detailing out how you will be able to animate 2D animation using text prompts. This is not to dissimilar to Apple Keyframer which was put out from Apple not too long ago.

• CANVA had their big CANVA CREATE conference this past week and they are now loading their software with A TON of new AI tools! Check out the FULL ANNOUNCEMENT.

Hollywood Tech Vets Michael and Peter Cioni Raise $1.9M in Pre-Seed Funding to Launch AI Production Tools Startup

• The goal is to create a platform that hosts a technology “marketplace” that will allow Editors, Music Supervisors and VFX Supervisors to go right to work. They are using AI to make the workflow much more efficient so everyone can focus on the creative.
