After years of anticipation, the vision Pro has finally arrived. Marques Brownlee gives an in depth review of how it feels, looks an thoughts on the future.
While many people have harsh reviews as it is not to the place where the majority of the world would adopt, the world has changed as we know it.
Computing will be shifting in this direction from this point on and utilizing heads up displays will become the norm.
This is the worst this headset will ever be. I would say the iPhone has gotten better than the one I had in 2008. I think the headset will move into this direction.
NEWS: Your Weekly Tech Update
Google introduces two new tools for image and music generation.
Google Labs introduces ImageFX and MusicFX
ImageFX is a new tool in Labs that lets you create images using text prompts. It's great for beginners who want to explore generative AI tools. By trying out different prompts and concepts, you can come up with new ideas and improve your creations. ImageFX has a user-friendly prompt interface with "expressive chips" to help you experiment with different aspects of your creation and boost your creativity.
With MusicFX you can create music up to 70 seconds long and music loops. You can also explore prompts with expressive chips and share your creations with friends. Over 10 million tracks have been created using this tool. They have made improvements to our MusicLM model, resulting in higher-quality audio and faster music generation. In early testing, the new music samples are preferred three times more than the previous ones.
Amazon has introduced Rufus, a generative AI-powered conversational shopping assistant, designed to revolutionize the online shopping experience. Rufus leverages Amazon's vast product catalog and web-wide information to provide customers with expert advice on shopping queries, product comparisons, and personalized recommendations. Initially available in beta to a select group of Amazon mobile app users in the U.S., Rufus aims to make shopping more informed and seamless by integrating directly into the familiar Amazon shopping environment. This innovative tool represents Amazon's continued investment in AI to enhance customer experiences, building on its 25+ years of AI utilization across various services, including personalized shopping recommendations, fulfillment optimization, and Alexa's conversational capabilities. With Rufus, Amazon is set to further transform how customers research, compare, and discover products that best meet their needs.
Apple CEO Time Cook hints at their AI Announcements
In a recent call with analysts following Apple's fiscal first-quarter earnings report, CEO Tim Cook teased an upcoming artificial intelligence (AI) announcement slated for later this year. While details were sparse, Cook emphasized Apple's commitment to competing in the AI space alongside tech behemoths like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and OpenAI, all of which have been developing sophisticated AI models capable of generating text and images. Apple, known for its investments in machine learning technology, has yet to unveil an advanced AI model of its own. The anticipation builds for Apple's potential reveal at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), where it traditionally showcases new software innovations. Last year, Apple introduced an autocorrect feature for the iPhone keyboard, powered by transformer-based language model technology akin to GPT's foundational tech, yet notably refrained from using the term "Artificial Intelligence" in favor of "Machine Learning." Cook's hints suggest a significant move by Apple in the generative AI and AI sectors, marking a keenly awaited development in the tech industry.
